Description

I have too many extension cords. I am going to get rid of some !! I have
One 50' 14 gauge orange. $12
One 100 foot 14 gauge cable, orange. $30
One 33 foot 14 gauge cable with integrated GFI. Black. $20.
One 100 foot 12 gauge (yellow) cable in a wooden spool. No cuts, no kinks, it's not even dirty. Used 2 or 3 times. $50.

You should know that the higher the gauge number the thinner the cable. 16 gauge cables will be fine for most applications but if the cable will have to carry a heavy load you should select a lower gauge to avoid overheating. Also, because voltage drops as the cables get longer, you should compensate using a lower gauge cable for longer extension runs. Home Depot carries cables as thick as 10 gauge but 100 foot ones cost around $100.
I also have a number of power strips that can be used in conjunction with any of the above if you need multiple outlets at the ends of your extension.
