POSSUM My name is Possum! You might think that is a strange name for a dog, but my coloring and even my coat reminded my foster mom of an opossum, so that seemed like a good temporary name for me. You can change my name when you take me home, or you can keep it too. Either way, just take me home! I am an older guy of around eight and have likely seen some hard times. I have some kind of skin or coat condition, where I have less hair than I should, mostly on my back. My hair is very soft, though. My foster mom was told I have a borderline low thyroid level, so she is giving me a little prescription thyroid medication (very inexpensive stuff!) and a little melatonin, too. The melatonin is supposed to help with hair loss in some male dogs, so worth a try, right? I also spin in circles a bit sometimes. My foster mom was told that some dogs do this when they have been crated for too long. After awhile this becomes a normal behavior. I am not crated now and probably shouldn't be crated too much in the future. I am very anxious for human touch and cuddling, but don't always like to share my humans with another animal. I think I might really like to be the only spoiled pet in the house. Do you have room in YOUR home for me?
