Chihuahua - Small - Adult - Female - Dog - poppy
Hi! I'm Poppy! Yes, that is my name, too, but somehow someone found a name that describes EXACTLY how I feel ALL THE TIME! I just love life, I have so much fun. I make people laugh and giggle, and when they do I laugh and giggle, too, through my whole body and you can see it! I wiggle and wobble, and jump and spin around and pounce, and, I just love life! I love little stuffed toys and squeaky toys and balls that roll around when I jump on them, and I like tugging on furry long tails attached to Golden Retrievers. I like running around in the grass with all the other guys - and I'm a hoot because sometimes I do a little tumble when my feet don't keep up with my body! That makes me giggle, too. I like feeding time because I'm crazy about food, and bed time because that's when I get my special liver treats. And I love burrowing down under a cozy blanket or between the sheets and curling into a tight little ball to sleep off the day. Next best is a cozy lap to curl up in. Can't beat it!!! Who really cares that I have a little neurological problem? Not me! That's what makes me the special, Poppy dog that I am. Ain't NOTHIN' wrong me! When I was four months old someone gave me the second gift of my life (the first was being born, silly!) and turned me into the Arizona Humane Society, where Az Chihuahua Rescue took me home. AZCR had me evaluated by a neurological specialist and, well, he thought I wasn't going to make it. He didn't know I had something special to give back to the world. So here I am, 2 years old, the specialist says he was wrong (could'a told you that if you'd asked me), and I'm giving back to everyone I meet! All I need now is a forever home that is looking for a joyful being to show them what overcoming obstacles and loving life is all about. I love all sizes and shapes of people and dogs, as long as they are kind to me. And, you sure could help by spreading the word and sharing my story. And my foster mom says I have to add this: I'm 8 lbs, spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and she gives me homeopathic stuff to help me with my balance. And I shouldn't go to a home with an unfenced pool or unprotected flights of stairs. Okay? Thanks for listening! Love, Poppy. Please email Pat for information on how to adopt Poppy.
