How Biz in a Boxx was Conceived

After over a year in development, Biz in a Boxx was created by Melissa Rose because she wanted to teach her 12-year-old daughter about entrepreneurship.

She knew that her daughter would likely not gain the specific skills in school, and yet she wanted her to grow into a well-rounded adult who was not only financially independent, but psychologically independent as well.

Melissa comes from multi-generations of entrepreneurs, and it was important that she provide her daughter with the same skill sets so that she could take advantage of all entrepreneurial opportunities now and in the future.

Melissa received her BA in Journalism in 1991 and her MBA in 2003. She started her first business, a marketing company, at the age of 20, and has been self-employed for 18 years.
