I have recently taken it upon myself to adopt a pitbull puppy that was horribly abused. My friend rescued her from a man that left some of his puppies in the back yard. He supposedly "fed" them twice a day, but never gave them any human contact, etc.
Zoey is an absolute DOLL. SHe is a blue and white pit and is severely emaciated, did have worms, and my friend used worming treatment on her, but earlier last night I was on a conference call with my Aunt, who is a retired vet tech, and my rescue buddy back home, and as I checked Soey over, I noticed that she was just INFESTED with ticks! She has them in her ears, in between her toes, EVERYWHERE! Even some so far down her ear canals that I cannot reach them to pull them off her, and some so small that I cannot get them off (we are going to be doing a tick dip here in a few minutes). And I also noticed a bald patch near her rear left knee. I knew when I took her in that she needed help, but this may all be more help than I can afford, and I was wondering if any really nice people out there would be willing to help me with her vet care.
Zoey seems very very happy here, and is the sweetest, most loving little pitbull I have ever seen in my entire life, and I would really love to keep her, as she has been through heck and back, and I know that after all this really hard, expensive vet care is over with, that my husband and I could afford to give her a really great and loving home with our children and other dogs. SHe is alreadfy super loyal to me, and follows me everywhere around the house, and even barks when someone comes in my front door, and I just adopted her earlier today!
I can assure you that this is not a scam, and would be willing to let you come see her as proof, if you need that reassurance. I really have fallen in love with her, and she is SUCH a little sweetheart, but I know that I cannot afford ALL her vet care for this by myself. I know that pitbull puppies that are about 4 mos old should weight in at at LEAST 20-30 pounds, adn she hasn't even hit 20 yet! She is smaller than a regular sized weiner dog, adn has the build of an italian greyhound with how tiny she is, which is far too small for a pitbull... I know that times are hard for some people with the economy, so if you are having trouble yourself, please don't think that you are absolutely obligated by any means to help me. As I do not want anyone in more of a hardship than they are already in.
Please help me help Zoey! Thank you all so very, very much for taking the time to read this, and to pass it on.
