Summary/Position Objectives: Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Accounting, this position will be responsible for assisting with the Accounts Payable process, researching stale checks and credit balance collections.Objectives: This position is responsible for timely, efficient, and accurate data entry and filing of account information and credit balance collections. Incumbent will perform other accounting and clerical functions as needed. Incumbent will maintain accurate and confidential financial data.Responsibilities: Essential Functions: „« Identify outstanding checks >120 days old and communicate with provider to resolve (stale check process)„« Organize, compile, research and analyze Mercy Care Plan data to identify credit balances > 90 days„« Communicate with providers using letters, email and telephone to promote a positive resolution of credit balances„« Organize and track credit balance status to completion„« Various document filing and off-site storage preparation„« Other duties as assignedSecondary Functions: „« Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously„« Effective organizational skills„« Ability to function independently and complete tasks in a timely manner„« Maintain professionalism at all times, including phone etiquette, manners, appearance, and attitude.„« Maintain strict confidentiality in regards to all financial and personnel information„« Works in a manner that is not disruptive to peers, supervisors and/or subordinates.„« Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer¡¦s sole discretion.„« Must be available and willing to work such days and hours as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
Knowledge and Skills:Incumbent needs the ability to perform detailed and accurate work using standard methodologies of data entry and filing. Incumbent must have advanced and meticulous organization and coordination abilities. Incumbent must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, and be able to operate common office equipment. The incumbent must have excellent verbal and writing skills, strong analytical capability and be able to prioritize multiple tasks. Systems used are Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, QMACS and QNXT. Claim experience helpful. Education and Work Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required. Incumbent must have one to two (1-2) years of data entry and filing experience. Work Environment Qualifications:Position is a computer station, cubicle office environment. Incumbent is expected to sit for extended periods, entering and manipulating data on a workstation computer and participating in team meetings. This position is required to work efficiently under significant time and deadline pressures. Incumbent spends at least 50% of daily responsibilities working both one-on-one and in teams with other personnel. Incumbent will have extended one-on-one contact with other employees in a quiet environment where hearing and listening is paramount.
